About Mr. Hammond

My name is Dan Hammond and this is my first year teaching at BFCCPS. I’m so excited to be joining such an awesome school!

I graduated from Brandeis University with a Bachelor’s Degree in History. I then received a Masters of Education from Lesley University. I have taught grades 3-5 in Newton for the past five years. I strive to make my classroom a respectful and welcoming community where students can take academic risks, learn important new skills, and have fun!

When I am not teaching, I'm all about listening to and making music. I enjoy playing guitar, piano, and singing. I have played in several bands! I also love sports, the outdoors, movies, and most of all spending time with friends and family.

I can’t wait to begin learning and growing with you all. I look forward to meeting you!
