All BFCCPS 8th grade students complete and present a service learning project we call Capstone. The term capstone references an architectural term for the final piece that is inserted to complete an archway. In that way the Capstone project symbolizes the final piece of a student’s education at BFCCPS. It requires the student to incorporate aspects of all four pillars of our school’s mission, in order to complete the project successfully.

Students will present as part of their advising groups (this is different from their homeroom teacher, so please check with your student if you do not know who their advisor is).

Presentations are scheduled for the end of January,

Tuesday, January 27th: Students in Ms. Trahan’s (12:00-1:15) & Miss White's Advising Groups (1:15-2:30)
Wednesday, January 28th: Students in Madame Patole (12:00-1:15) & Coach Anderson's Advising Groups (1:15-2:30)
Thursday, January 29th: Students in Mr. Nerbonne (12:00-1:15) & Mrs. Vasady Kovacs' Advising Groups (1:15-2:30)
Friday: January 30th: Students in Madame McNamara’s Advising Group (10:00 - 11:30)

In the case of a delayed start to the school day due to inclement weather, capstone presentations on 1/27, 1/28, or 1/29 will proceed as scheduled in the afternoon. In the case of cancellation on 1/27, 1, 28 or 1/29, those presentations will be postponed to 1/3, 1/4, or 1/5 respectively. In case of a delay or cancellation on 1/30, those presentations will be held on 2/6 at the same time.

If your student is new to BFCCPS this year and assigned to Jessica Kelleher as an advisor, they will be presenting later in the school year and we will provide more details later in the school year.

Dress Code:

In respect for the importance of Capstone Projects and peers who are presenting, 8th grade students are expected to dress up for their Capstone Presentation. This could include a button down shirt and a tie with khaki, blue or black trousers, a skirt and top, or a dress. Students' outfits and footwear are still required to be compliant with the school dress code. The full dress code can be found here

On days they are not presenting students are asked to dress up for the occasion, but not as formally as when they are presenting. They should not wear PE clothes, pajama clothes or lounge wear.

The dress code policy is still in effect when presenting or supporting peers who are presenting as audience members.

Driving Directions to 500 Financial Park

The Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public School is located at 500 Financial Park in Franklin Massachusetts, just 1.9 miles from Exit 16 on Route 495.

Our facility is accessible via the entrance at 431 Washington Street in Franklin. (There is a gated entrance to Financial Park off of Grove Street which requires card access; please note that this entrance is not accessible to visitors, parents and staff.)
