The Professional Development Committee for the Beverly Public Schools is an opportunity for teachers, paraprofessionals and administrators to work together to create opportunities for professional growth for all staff. In Beverly, we have begun to shift the way we provide professional development, utilizing a variety of structures and introducing staff to both blended and personalized learning opportunities, EdCamps, Teacher-led PD, and opportunities for teachers to "Create your own PD day". Over the past few years, our teachers have expanded their knowledge in a number of different topics including Project-Based Learning, Design Thinking, Curriculum Mapping, Trauma Sensitive Schools, Personalized Learning, as well as a district wide viewing of "Most Likely to Succeed". These offerings have provided all staff an opportunity to investigate innovative practices and begin the work of re-imagining our schools. We continue to work together examining the framework and structures to best meet the needs of all our students as teachers share their work in co-teaching, inclusive practices, and interdisciplinary learning.
