BOCES Vocational Programs

BOCES Information 2026- 2027 School Year

Nassau BOCES offers career and cultural arts training programs for students across Nassau County.  Students entering grades 10 and 11 can apply to programs of study at any one of three Nassau BOCES locations, BOCES Barry Tech, BOCES GC Tech or LIHSA (Long Island High School for the Arts).  Students interested in attending a vocational or cultural arts program next year must attend the Taste of Tech open house.  Permission slips are available in the BHS Counseling Center.  

In order to attend a vocational program for the 2026-2027 school year, students must complete the BHS BOCES Application.  Deadline is March 1, 2026.   There are no exceptions to these requirements and deadlines.  Students must speak with their counselor during the scheduling process if they are interested in registering for a vocational or cultural arts program.  Students and parents are also encouraged to attend an Open House. 

BOCES is responsible for the location and timing of their programs. Program locations and times are subject to change.  BOCES is responsible for the admissions of student applicants based upon attendance, behavior and academic records. Students with an IEP who may need skills courses must apply for a skills course in order to be considered.

TASTE OF TECH

Barry Tech will be hosting a "Taste of Tech" on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 7:45 A.M. for all students wishing to apply to Barry Tech. Permission slips will be available in the BHS Counseling Center in January.  Permission slips must be returned as soon as possible with a deadline of January 23rd.

Barry Tech will be hosting Open House events for parents on Saturday January 31, 2026 at 10:00 am and Wednesday February 11, 2026 at 5:30pm.  Click here for registration to Barry Tech Open House events. 

GC Tech

GC Tech will be hosting a "Taste of Tech" on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 7:40 A.M. for all students wishing to apply to GC Tech. Permission slips will be available in the BHS Counseling Center in January.  Permission slips must be returned by Thursday January 29th.

Long Island High School for the Arts  Students are required to complete an application and an audition.  If you are interested you may Register for Open House.  All students must complete the LIHSA Application and the BHS BOCES Application. Students should see their counselor and contact LIHSA to schedule a visit. *** Open House February 6th at 6:00PM
