Hi Fourth Graders,

I'm Ms. Riegel and I'm so excited to welcome you to my class. Fourth grade was one of my favorite years in elementary school, and I hope that it will be yours too! This is my eleventh year teaching and my eighth year in 4th grade. I grew up in Bethlehem and graduated from Bethlehem High School, way before you were even born! I spent my elementary days at Elsmere School and have lots of great memories from my time as a fourth grader! 

It's been a busy summer for me! I've been working on lots of projects at my house; painting, crafting, gardening, and organizing, while also playing with my three daughters! Campbell and Sawyer are 6-year-old twins who will be in first grade this fall. They spent a week at Helderberg Workshop (a camp I did as a kid!). Quinn is 3.5 years old and is always making us laugh. We have spent a lot of time swimming this summer. We spent a week on Sacandaga Lake with our grandparents and loved swimming and playing in the sand! We've also loved having summer playdates with our cousins - 13 altogether!

We are going to have a great year together! You might have lots of emotions about summer ending, entering a new grade, meeting new friends, being with a new teacher. Don't worry, I have those feelings too. We will make the most of our time together! Everything that we will do this year will require an open mind, flexibility, and a positive attitude. I can't wait to meet you and start our school year!
