TARGET GOAL: AUGUST BEFORE SENIOR YEAR (ANYTIME AFTER JUNIOR CONFERENCE)
COUNSELOR & TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS
Identify two teachers from 11th grade to write you a college letter of recommendation. Colleges prefer recommendations from core academic teachers or content areas directly related to your intended major.
Ask these two teachers (preferably in person) to write you a college letter of recommendation at least 4 weeks before your earliest application deadline.
Submit a formal recommendation request through Scoir to any teacher who agrees to write you a recommendation. In Scoir navigate to My Colleges >> Docs >> Letters of Recommendation >> New Request >> Enter Teacher Name >> Select General Recommendation >> Submit
Complete the Transcript & Recommendation Request Form. Return a copy to each teacher and your counselor to notify them of schools and deadlines. This form can be downloaded from the BCHS Counseling Google Site or picked up in the Counseling Center.
Refer to the Step 3 Instructions handout located on the BCHS Counseling Google Site.

Confirm you have listed Bethlehem Central High School as your current school by signing into your Common App account, clicking the “My Common Application” tab and then navigating to the”Education” sub tab and selecting "Current or Most Recent Secondary/High School." If no school is listed, click find school and add Bethlehem Central High School as your current school.

TARGET GOAL: COMPLETE BOTH IN SEPTEMBER OF SENIOR YEAR
CONNECT COMMON APP & SCOIR
From your Scoir account, click Me and select View Profile.
If you are a senior, you will see the option to Connect Common App on your Scoir profile page. Click it to begin the connection process.
A new window will open, taking you to Common App’s login page. Sign in using the email and password you used to create your Common App account.
Check the box to confirm you agree to share your Common App information with Scoir, then click Connect and continue.
Once the connection is complete, you will be redirected back to Scoir. On your profile, you'll see your account connection status, Common App FERPA status, and Common App ID.
Once your Scoir and Common App accounts are connected, your college list from Common App will sync to your "My Colleges" list in Scoir. It may take a few minutes for updates in Common App to appear in Scoir.
DO NOT move your Common App colleges in your Scoir My Colleges list after connecting your Scoir and Common App accounts. Doing so will disrupt the sync between Scoir & Common App. If you no longer wish to apply to a school, you will need to remove it from Common App.
