Why Anti-Littering?
Littering has quietly slipped into our daily lives, becoming an accepted part of our surroundings. Its normalization is a silent threat to our environment, damaging the very place we call home.
Clean BU campaign is dedicated to reducing littering and to stop normalizing such a harmful practice at Bethlehem University, fostering a more sustainable and cleaner environment for all.
Littering involves the improper disposal of waste or trash in public spaces, such as throwing garbage on streets, parks, or water bodies instead of using designated bins.
Littering can pollute waterways, harm wildlife, introduce toxins into ecosystems, and contribute to soil degradation, which ultimately impacts the overall health of the environment.
Simple actions like properly disposing of trash in designated bins, recycling, reducing single-use items, and educating others about the importance of responsible waste disposal can significantly help in preventing littering.
You can participate by joining community clean-up events, spreading awareness on social media, supporting proper waste management, or volunteering with local environmental organizations.
