Our Philosophy
District 8 will offer a safe and caring before and after school program of the highest quality for our K-5 children enrolled within the district. We will provide extended-day care in each of our three elementary schools that will connect the educational school day with before and after school hours, where we will offer a balance of homework support and time to play and engage with peers.
Program Calendar
Child care is available before and after school on all student attendance days and teacher institute days.
Hours of Operation
Before School - Beginning at 6:00 a.m.
ALL before school child care for kindergarten-5th grade students is provided at Bethalto East Primary School. Our 2nd-5th grade students are picked up via bus at approximately 8:00 a.m. and are transported to either Parkside (2nd-3rd) or Meadowbrook (4th-5th).
After School - Ending at 6:00 p.m.
After school child care is provided at each of our elementary buildings, Bethalto East Primary (kindergarten-1st), Parkside Primary (2nd-3rd), and Meadowbrook Intermediate (4th-5th).

Program options are available for:
before school only, after school only
before and after school
teacher institute days
We also offer a limited number of part-time/partial week spots and are approved for CCAP, formerly known as CHASSI, for any families who qualify for assistance.

How to Setup Your MySchoolBucks Account
Families will pay fees for Beyond the Bell via MySchoolBucks (MSB) or personal check. If using your MySchoolBucks account, please make sure you have it set up so you can pay your fees on time. IF you DO NOT already have a MSB account, please follow the one-time-only steps below. Families with multiple children within the district will only do this once as all children from the same family will be linked to the same MSB account.

On the left navigation menu, select MySchoolBucks
You will be directed to MySchoolBucks to complete the registration process.
If you are an existing MySchoolBucks user, you have the option of keeping your existing login or linking it to your PowerSchool account. To make it easier, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND linking it to your PowerSchool account, so you have the same login details for both and will see your fees in your parent portal account.
