Kaylee Campbell

Intern, Summer Programs/ BestPrep Alumni

Kaylee has been active with BestPrep since 2020 when she attended the first virtual Minnesota Business Venture (MBV), BestPrep's business and career development summer camp. She was selected to return the following year as a CEO (student leader) in 2021 and again in 2022. Additionally, Kaylee has volunteered twice to speak on the student panel at TIW. 

Kaylee is a leader amongst leaders and is known for setting a positive and inclusive tone, being incredibly helpful, and lending a hand without even being asked. 

Josh Halicke

Program Manager, Classroom Plus and Financial Matters

B.S., Urban Studies, University of Minnesota, Twin Cities

Josh joined the BestPrep team in June of 2023. While in school, he gained valuable experience working as a paraprofessional. This role allowed him to work closely with students and educators to contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment. 

Driven by a desire to make a broader impact, he transitioned to the nonprofit space. In his first role, Josh worked as part of the Mission Impact team at an organization that supplied under-resourced students and teachers with free classroom essentials. In his most recent role as the Central Minnesota Regional Coordinator for the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits, Josh worked to help support nonprofits in the region. He worked to provide valuable training, access to resources, and support to enhance their impact. 

In his free time, he loves to hike and be out in nature with his wife, daughter, and their two dogs. 

Bob Kaitz

President and CEO

After completing his undergraduate and master’s degrees in secondary education, Bob Kaitz was hired by Breck School to conduct a three-year pilot project to develop “best practices” for teaching economic and business education. The results of the pilot project created the framework for BestPrep, a statewide nonprofit organization with a mission to prepare students with business, career and financial literacy skills through hands-on experiences that inspire success in work and life. 

Kaitz left Breck School in 1976 to become the organization’s president and CEO. During the past 47 years, the organization has gone from serving 4 schools and 275 students to serving 400 schools and 40,000 students and teachers annually. Under Kaitz’s supervision, BestPrep has created and/or implemented a variety of successful programs including Classroom Plus, Cloud Couch, eMentors, Financial Matters, Minnesota Business Venture, The Stock Market Game, and the Technology Integration Workshop

In addition to his work with BestPrep, Bob has devoted forty years to coaching youth basketball. He is the author of Here's Hooping, which is dedicated to helping volunteers coach youth basketball. 

Stephanie Musgrove

Program Manager, The Stock Market Game™

B.A., Global Studies and Anthropology, University of Minnesota

M.A., Higher Education Policy and Administration, University of Minnesota

Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Stephanie came to the Twin Cities to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Global Studies and Anthropology at the University of Minnesota. After graduation, she served as a college and career access coordinator at a Minneapolis high school through AmeriCorps. Following her year with AmeriCorps, she served in various student services positions at universities throughout the metro area before completing her Master’s Degree in Higher Education Policy and Administration, also from the University of Minnesota, in 2013. For more than four years she worked for a large Minnesota-based credit union, spending the majority of her time in marketing, business development and community relations. She also coordinated the organization’s financial education programming, which included several BestPrep volunteer engagements. In December of 2017, she joined BestPrep’s full-time staff as The Stock Market Game Program Manager to pursue her passion for improving youth financial literacy. In the 19-20 and 20-21 school years she also managed the Technology Integration Workshop and supports the eMentors and Minnesota Business Venture programs.

 

Stephanie is also the President of the Board of Directors for the MN Jump$tart Coalition for Youth Financial Literacy. In her free time, she loves traveling with her husband to new places at home and abroad, finding great comedy shows, celebrating birthdays, volunteering with Eagle Brook Church, walks with her dogs, and visits to see family in Illinois, Mississippi and Arkansas.

Mo Omar

Program and Outreach Associate 

B.A., Political Science, Economics Minor, Emory University

Mo joined the BestPrep staff in April 2023. In this role, Mo promotes BestPrep programs to existing and prospective educators and students. Mo’s objective is to increase attendance and usage of BestPrep’s programs. Mo has previously worked in advocacy for the unsheltered and survivors of domestic violence. He has also worked in polling.

 

In his spare time, Mo enjoys listening to music, watching sports, and athletic activities.

Brook Sunderman

Communications and Events Coordinator

B.A., Organization Communication and Communication Studies, Bethel University

Brook graduated from Bethel University in May of 2021 where she gained a multitude of leadership experiences. Some of these include serving as Program Support Intern with Booster Enterprises and holding multiple positions on campus, including Resident Assistant.

 

Upon graduating from Bethel University, Brook sought to work in the non-profit world where she could feel like her work would make a direct impact in the community. BestPrep fit that description, and after a long job search, she began a position as one of BestPrep’s Program Associates in August 2021 and since then has transitioned into the Communications and Events Coordinator role where she is utilizing her degree and working for an impactful organization.

 

As a first-generation college graduate, Brook recognizes how important BestPrep’s services are, as she was a student who would have benefited from them. She is passionate about education and investing in youth and is so excited to begin her professional journey at BestPrep.

 

In her free time, Brook enjoys getting outdoors by hiking, camping, hammocking, running, rollerblading, sand volleyball, snowboarding, traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

Bonnie Vagasky

Bonnie Vagasky

Vice President, External Relations and Program Manager, Technology Integration Workshop

B.S., Mathematics Education, Winona State University

M.A., Organizational Management, Concordia University

Bonnie has a passion for the field of education and especially for providing high-quality programming that supplements teachers’ curriculum. Bonnie taught mathematics for three years at Eveleth-Gilbert Junior High School. While there, she took part in SciMathMN, a two-week teacher academy, which gave her a vision for ways she could enhance teachers’ work as they create engaging learning opportunities for their students. 

 

Bonnie has been able to carry out this vision at BestPrep. She started as a Program Associate and has since managed The Stock Market Game, the eMentors program, and the Technology Integration Workshop (TIW).  She also led the Cloud Coach pilot and continues to support that program. In her current role she manages the TIW while also managing external relationships with schools, community organizations, and companies. She also aims to create new partnerships with student-serving non-profits and community groups, and introduce new volunteers and companies to BestPrep. Bonnie also represents BestPrep on several boards and committees including CVC-TC and the Career and Technical Advisory Boards for Columbia Heights, Elk River Area Schools, and Saint Paul Public Schools.

 

In her spare time, Bonnie enjoys spending time with her husband Paul, traveling, amateur photography, volunteering with her church, Calvary Chapel Twin Cities, and trying out restaurants featured on the Food Network’s popular Diners, Drive-ins and Dives – more than 30 so far!
