Dr. LaDonna Smith is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and co owner of Be Rooted Therapy. Her work centers on attachment, relational healing, and culturally affirming care for individuals, couples, and families.
As a Black woman clinician, Dr. Smith understands the emotional labor that Black women therapists carry in the therapy room, in their communities, and often in their personal lives. She is deeply committed to creating spaces where Black women can rest without performing, soften without explaining, and be held without having to hold others.
Rested & Rooted reflects her belief that restoration is not indulgent. It is essential.
Dr. Jarryn Robinson-Ellis is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, educator, and co owner of Be Rooted Therapy. Her clinical work is rooted in attachment informed, systemic practice and a deep commitment to relational and cultural attunement.
Dr. Robinson-Ellis is passionate about sustainability in the therapy profession, particularly for Black women therapists who are often called to lead, support, and advocate without receiving the same care in return. She believes rest is a form of preservation and protection.
Rested & Rooted was created to offer Black women clinicians the kind of peace that allows them to return to themselves, grounded, replenished, and deeply rooted.
