Dear All,
This has been a wonderfully rewarding year for me as it marks my 34th year teaching in Bernards Township. It has gone by so fast. What an amazing ride it has been!
The orchestra program hosted distinguished conductor, Mr. Kevin Noe who worked with the students on Die Fledermaus Overture. It was partially funded by the RHS PTO Mini-Grant Program. What a fantastic day it was!
We had a successful musical season performing "Mary Poppins". It was a tremendously difficult show that came together beautifully. I was so proud of the students and all of their hard work. It truly paid off in the end. In addition, the Bernards Township String Program hosted their first ever "ALL THINGS STRINGS FESTIVAL" on Wednesday, March 18th. We celebrated our beloved clinician and former string faculty, Mrs. Kathy Kowalewski, who retired last year from our district. We also welcomed our newest addition to our string faculty, Mrs. Sarah Franchino who was one of the main organizers/planners for the event. With the help of Mrs. Kate Whitely and Mr. Deivy Millan Mejia, Mr. Brian McGowan and several students from the RHS Orchestra Program, the night was a huge success.
I am forever grateful for this successful school year and all of the experiences that I have had. As I get older and wiser, I revel in the small moments of everyday life in the orchestra room: watching the members of the orchestra family care for one other, creating great memories and music together. I cherish every moment with these wonderful human beings. They make me want to be a better person and teacher. I love that about them. I look forward to more years of making music with this orchestra family.
I hope you have a wonderful summer! I look forward to seeing you all again next year.
Please don't forget to check out the 2026 Strictly Strings Summer Music Camp.
We would love to see you there.
To the seniors - Good Luck with all of your future endeavors. Continue to make the world a better place. Please remember to drop me a line every now and then to let me know how you are doing.
Sincerely yours in music…
Jennifer Curran
