Thank you for your interest in attending the Jersey Core Education Career Fair! This is an excellent opportunity to meet administrators, educators and instructional leaders to make direct, private connections that may lead to future job opportunities. We can't wait to meet you at the fair!

Location: Ridge High School, 268 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920

Parking: Parking Lots will open at 4:00pm. Upon entering Ridge, participants will make a left to park in LOT B, C or D. There will be parking attendants to assist you.

Arrival: Doors will open for registered candidates at 4:00pm however please feel free to arrive anytime after. Please check-in upon arrival.

Career Fair Tips

You've put in a lot of hard work to get your teaching certificate- a job fair is the perfect chance to show off your skills and find employment opportunities! Having so many employers in one place can make the process more manageable. An Education Career Fair is a critically important first impression. Hopefully you will leave with a follow-up interview but you also want to walk away with principals remembering you and wanting to know more about the skills and experience you can offer their district. Armed with these tips, educators can approach an in-person career fair with confidence and readiness, paving the way for meaningful connections and potential career opportunities.

Research

Prior to the career fair, take the time to research each participating school district. Familiarize yourself with their mission, values, and educational programs to demonstrate your genuine interest and preparedness.

Resume

Ensure that your resume stands out by highlighting your unique skills, experiences, and achievements in the field of education. Tailor it to showcase your strengths and align with the specific needs of the districts you are interested in. Make sure to bring enough copies!

Educator Elevator Pitch

Be ready to succinctly articulate your teaching philosophy, professional strengths, and what sets you apart as an educator. An engaging educator elevator pitch can leave a lasting impression on potential employers.

Professional Appearance

Dress in professional attire that reflects your respect for the event and the education profession. A polished appearance conveys your commitment and readiness for a professional setting.

Set Clear Meeting Goals

Identify specific districts you wish to connect with and set goals for each interaction. Whether it's learning more about their curriculum, expressing interest in a specific position, or seeking information about their school culture, setting goals and preparing questions ahead of time will help you make purposeful connections.

Prepare for Questions

Anticipate common interview questions and prepare thoughtful responses. Practice articulating your teaching philosophy, addressing challenges, and sharing your vision for student success to confidently engage with potential employers.
