We have created a gifted bootcamp for the FLEX platform titled the Gifted Virtual Academy. This course is designed for new and seasoned gifted teachers, case managers, and administrators. This virtual academy is an asynchronous deep dive into all things gifted education, from Chapter 16, GIEP development, enrichment and acceleration best practices, and more. Designed for both new and seasoned gifted educators, the modules are designed to provide participants with a deeper understanding of the characteristics of gifted learners, the gifted education process in Pennsylvania, and how to meet the social and emotional needs of their gifted learners.
Explain the differences between gifted learners and their typically developing peers.
Develop a deeper understanding of Chapter 16.
Describe the difference between enrichment and accelerated learning.
Apply strategies for differentiated learning in ELA, Math and Science.
The Supporting the Needs of Gifted Learners FLEX course (asynchronous, online, no live meeting dates) is now available at no cost to educators. A free Teachable account is required to enroll in OPL FLEX courses.
This experience was designed for General Education teachers to help learn how to best support gifted learners in the classroom. Please share with your colleagues and administrators. You are welcome to join in the course, too!
