The Berkhamsted Trophy is a World Amateur Golf Ranking, 72 hole scratch competition, played over 3 days. After 36 holes, the leading 40 players and ties, will play the final 36 holes.
The official practice day is Wednesday 8th April and is free of charge. Tee times are between 12.00 and 14.00. No play can begin after 14.00 to allow green staff to prepare the course. Other practice rounds can be arranged subject to availability, by calling the pro-shop at Berkhamsted Golf Club on 01442 865832. All Practice Rounds must be played from the black tees. Only one complimentary practice round per player.
There is a large practice ground, approximately 10 minutes walk from the Clubhouse. This is open all day, using your own balls.
A small practice range is by the Clubhouse, for which balls may be obtained from the Proshop on tournament days. The maximum club to be used on this range is a 7 iron. This range is open 07.15 - 09.30 and 11.00 - 15.30 on tournament days.
The short game area on the left of the 18th is available for use, using your own balls. Please follow the directional signs to get there, going behind the 18th green.
There is a chipping green and a putting green across the road from the 1st/10th tees.
Registration opens on Tuesday 7th April and closes at 16.00 on Wednesday 8th April on-line by clicking here, or in person.

Collection of bag tags, car park passes, and yardage books will be from the Pro Shop on Tuesday and/or Wednesday
Any uncollected by 16.00 Wednesday will be available in the Club House from 07.00 Thursday.
Pin positions will be uploaded to the portal by 19.30 the evening before the next day’s play.
Score cards will be handed out on your starting tee and hard copies of the pin positions will be available.
The England Golf Hard Card and Code of Conduct policy are in use for this competition, and can be downloaded from the England Golf website linked here.
The Hertfordshire Golf Pace of Play is in use and can be downloaded from the portal
On-course scoring will be available through Golf Genius, and one player from each group is encouraged to enter scores during their round.
If, in the opinion of Berkhamsted Golf Club, it becomes impossible to complete the competition because of adverse weather or other circumstances, the Golf Club may vary the format to the extent necessary to achieve a result with the time available.
Berkhamsted Golf Club reserves the right to cancel the event at any time if required to do so, or if in its opinion it is reasonable in the circumstances to do so, due to events beyond its reasonable control
Coffee will be served on arrival. The Kitchen will be open from 06.45 to 17.00.
The Augusta Masters will be shown in the Clubhouse, and special evening meals will be available on Thursday and Friday.
For those competitors playing on Saturday 11th April a lunch will be served from 11.00am
Locker Rooms are available for both Men and Women on the lower ground floor.
You must report to the starter no later than 5 minutes before your tee time.
In the event of a tie for the Trophy, there will be a “sudden death” play-off, on the 18th hole, repeating if necessary.
This will take place immediately after the last scores have been returned and checked.
The winner will be the first player to complete a hole in the least number of strokes.
The results of the competition are deemed officially announced and the competition is closed when the Berkhamsted Trophy is presented to the winner.
The presentation ceremony will take place at approximately 19.00
All claims and disputes will be settled by the Trophy Committee.
The Committee reserves the right to alter the Terms of the Competition.
The decision of the Committee is final in all matters.
