Consider reaching out to an essential worker with a handmade card or letter. Or, get creative with a video, sign to put up in your window, or sidewalk chalk message. This video includes some positive expressions of gratitude that may help if you need inspiration in knowing where to begin.

"Craftivism can be your voice of resistance: Craftivism is a non-threatening form of activism that gives people a voice when they feel voiceless and power where they feel powerless. It is an international movement for our time and noted Craftivism expert Sayraphim Lothian has put together the first-ever tutorial book on craftivism."
Check out the Community Action opportunities put together by Mr. Budd and posted to the Berkeley Carroll website. Maybe your contribution is cheering on the emergency workers at 7pm, or creating masks at home, or lending your bike to someone who needs it, or delivering groceries to neighbors in need. There's an opportunity for everyone to be found here.
Fifth grader Misa C. has began a "1,000 Paper Cranes" project. As she wrote for the BC Times, "I’m doing this project because my grandfather is Japanese and in Japan there is a legend in which if you fold a thousand paper cranes you will be given good luck and you will live a long time. My goal would be for people in the BC Community to fold a thousand paper cranes so that I can make a collage of all the paper cranes for all the people sick with Covid - 19." Join Misa in her project!
