BC College Counseling
Resource page
Welcome to the Berkeley Carroll College Counseling page. Bookmark this page link so that you may return to it again and again!
Documents we know will be useful for your college search will be posted here. Also note that we will periodically add documents to the MyDrive section of your SCOIR account.
Make an appointment with your counselor:
Calendly automatically integrates with Google calendar and Zoom (or students may choose to meet in person). If the times listed on our calendars don’t work in your schedule, email Ms. Dunne.
Applications: The Common Application pdf can be found below. You will use the online version to apply, but here's a useful preview so you can see the application sections as they appear to the reader:
Common Application
Links to the online application for the Common Applications plus UCAS and CUNY and the University of California can be found in the section below.
You can start the Common Applications at any time. The application (like most of these mentioned above) will be updated on or around August 1, but your account will roll over to the next application year.
NOTE: The Coaltiion Application merged with SCOIR as of summer 2022. Since the Common App is used by about 1000 colleges and universities and there are no applications that cannot be found on the Common App that are on SCOIR/Coalition, we strongly prefer you use the Common Application.
Some websites we recommend you use in your search/application process.

Recommended resources for those of you who prefer paper: Some of these books are subjective guides, others are based on niche criteria, and still more are meant to be insiders' guides.
We have gifted a copy of the FISKE guide for students to begin their qualitative research. But we know families will (sometimes) ask for trusted resources to provide more insight into the process and guidance on what roles family members can take.
Also remember to use the BC College Handbook for Berkeley Carroll Families.
