Referendum Overview

Board Approves Resolution

The Board of Education voted on Monday, December 16, 2019 to approve the resolution for placing a proposition issuing $105,000,000 School Building Bonds to voters at the general primary election to be held on March 17, 2020. This decision was the result of nearly two years of work across all stakeholder groups.

Many thanks to the Community Committee, all community members, staff, administration, and the Board of Education for their engagement in this two-year process to improve facilities for District 87 schools.

The $105 million plan addresses needs at all six D87 schools. The estimated tax impact will be approximately $558 per year in additional taxes on a $200,000 home. For a personalized estimate on your tax impact, please use the Tax Calculator provided.

If the plan is approved by voters on Election Day on March 17, 2020, D87 committees that include architects, construction experts, administrators, parents, staff, and community members will help guide the implementation of the Long-Term Facilities Plan and Referendum goals.
