A Berkeley Unified School District event in collaboration with Transition Berkeley, Nimble Repair, & Culture of Repair
Berkeley Unified School District is hosting three repair clinics throughout the 2024-25 school year to provide an opportunity for members of our schools & community to learn how to repair things at home.
Bring your broken electronics, appliances, toys, bikes, clothes, and more to one of our Fix-it Fests! Learn a new skill and help reduce waste in our community!
We will provide a workspace, tools, and guidance from a volunteer "Repair Coach" to help YOU disassemble, troubleshoot, and hopefully fix your item.
Stay tuned for more information about Fix-it Fests for the 25/26 school year!

What to bring? There are many types of items you can bring, including: small appliances, electronics, wheeled transportation devices (bikes, scooters, etc), clothing/textiles, toys, jewelry, small furniture, and more. Please only bring items that one person can typically carry. Please bring any owners manuals, spare parts or broken parts that apply to your item, to assist with the repair.
What not to bring? Please do not bring large, bulky, or heavy items that are difficult to carry (e.g., refrigerator, dining room table). Also, we cannot accommodate gas-powered items, microwaves, or printers. If you're unsure about an item, reach out to the contact listed below, or submit a form and we will get back to you.
Expectations: Please note that there is no guarantee that you will be able to successfully repair your item, but we will try our best to support you to make the repair and learn about the repair in the process. Although we intend to repair the item, it is possible that the damage/issue may worsen. Please be aware of this when bringing your item.
Items for repair at the events will be accepted until 3:30 pm. We will not begin new repairs after 3:30 pm.
