I have run several interdisciplinary reading groups since starting my PhD. For instance, I ran a reading group on STS for computer scientists during summer and fall 2022. Since spring 2023, I have been an active participant in the Algorithmic Decision Systems (ADS) reading group. Since summer 2024 I have held a leadership role as the "interdisciplinarity coordinator" for the ADS group, particularly by bringing in STS scholars to speak with us.
In fall 2024, I was a graduate student member of the interview committees for the AI, Inequality, & Society cluster hire and for the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing director search.
In winter 2023, I was a graduate student member of the Berkeley TCS PhD admission committee.
I have also been involved in organizing in the EECS department with our graduate student union, which helps us advocate for issues relating to quality of life, equity, and funding from central campus for adequate departmental course staffing, all of which contribute to improving the environment and academic quality of EECS.
