Our mission

The Vanguard at Berkeley aims to provide community-based watchdog and news reporting of local government and criminal justice reform. We strive to bring transparency, accountability and fairness to our local government and courts.

Who we're looking for

Students interested in:

  • Pre-law

  • Journalism

  • Observing & writing articles about Alameda County court proceedings

  • Investigating and writing articles related to criminal justice

  • Investigating and writing articles related to social justice
