Rhett Bryant

Graduate Student

Education

Research
Rhett is investigating the synthesis and reactivity of first-row transition metal silylenes and silicides.

Experience
Rhett began his undergraduate research developing mathematical models to predict the stability and mobility of aqueous nanobubbles under the supervision of Prof. Peter Kusalik. Rhett then turned to synthetic chemistry, where he worked on the synthesis of iron amido and imido complexes supported by a novel monoanionic pentadentate ligand in Prof. Warren Piers’ lab.

Biography
Rhett was born and raised in the prairies of Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. After gaining an interest in chemistry, he traded in the prairies for the mountains and did his undergraduate studies at the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. In his spare time Rhett enjoys climbing, skiing, backpacking, and biking.
