Background

According to a 2017 CDC report, every year in America alone, food-borne illnesses cause:

• 48 million to get sick
• 128000 to be hospitalized
• 3000 to die

Additionally, the $783 billion a year US food service industry which employs 11m people faces government pressure to increase wages

Motivation

People who can’t cook:

• Less than competent chefs who give others and themselves food poisoning.
• Busy individuals (like students in 102B) who do not have time and need a healthy, tasty, and affordable protein option
• Senior citizens who struggle with day-to-day tasks

Automation of fast food industry:

• Reduce required labor costs for the task of cooking
• Improve worker efficiency via automation of the task of cooking chicken
