Advisors
Are you a PI interested in hosting a postbac scholar in your lab? Are you committed to creating a supportive laboratory environment through mentoring? Have you previously engaged in diversity, equity and inclusion efforts?
We are currently accepting applications for advisors to join the RaMP network. If accepted, you will then invite a member of your lab to participate as a mentor (overseeing the daily success of the RaMP scholar and participating more broadly in the program). PIs may choose to serve as a mentor themselves if they are able to commit to all mentor responsibilities. When a mentor has committed to the mentor responsibilities and expectations, your lab will be included in the upcoming scholar application cycle. If matched with a scholar, your lab will participate in that cycle. Mentors (typically graduate students, postdocs or researcher scientists) can only serve in that role for one cycle, but labs can host a scholar for multiple cycles. If two members of the lab would like to split the mentor responsibilities, a co-mentor arrangment can be made.
For more information on being a RaMP Advisor and/or to apply to join, please fill out the RaMP Network Application.
Mentors
Are you a member of a lab doing research related to microbiome sciences? Are you interested in developing your skills as a leader and mentor? Do you value diversity, equity and inclusion?
Mentors provide the primary support for a RaMP scholar matched with their lab based on research interest, desired skill sets and project alignment. In addition to day-to-day mentoring, mentors are responsible for faciliating training sessions for the scholar cohort, and participating in mentoring development opportunities. Mentors can only serve in that role for one cycle. If two members of the lab would like to split the mentor responsibilities, a co-mentor arrangment can be made. Mentors will receive a generous stipend to support their participation.
For more information on being a RaMP Mentor and/or to apply to join, please fill out the RaMP Mentor Interest Form.
