G Interdisciplinary- History or English teacher can teach Puente Ethnic Studies
How will Puente support the implementation of this course?
PSI, YPAR, Puente PD - Fall and Spring, On Site Coaching, Start up funding for course materials, etc. (not for salary purposes)
How will this course align with the Puente English courses?
The current Puente English course will be amended to align with the thematic units of the Ethnic Studies for cross-disciplinary collaborative approach to learning.
How will this course affect the Puente elective?
The intention of the course is to be offered during the 9th grade year which should maximize their courses to be competitive for college admissions in the development of a community and inclusive world view.
Will the course be available to non- Puente students?
Ideally your cohorts would be the same for 9th, but it depends on what works for your site’s master schedule.
How will the course align with district Ethnic Studies courses?
This course has been developed for the Puente Project, but if other schools would like to adopt the course we encourage this collaboration. In fact, we can provide PD in this area by Puente experts through a partnership.
