An introduction to the diverse ways environmental problems are investigated, comparing the approaches and methods of various disciplines represented among faculty and students. This course is the first of the core course sequence required for all ESPM graduate students. The purpose of this course is to provide graduate students in ESPM with an opportunity to explore how research is practiced in multiple disciplines that study enduring environmental problems. Importantly, this is an opportunity for students to learn about their cohort and faculty members and resources available within the department and across the Berkeley campus.
