Tangerine started his PhD in 2024 originally studying Polymer Chemistry, specifically his research interests are in finding the plastic with the best "crunch" and "chewability". He transferred to the Pallud lab to study anthropogenic soil (i.e., anthrosol soils), with the hopes of discovering plastic that decomposes more quickly. His long-term research goal is to use microplastics found in soils to create edible silicone cat treats.
Pumpkin's research focuses on the thermal properties of laps, sunbeams, and freshly laundered blankets, with a secondary interest in the structural integrity of couch cushions. He is a leading authority on the acoustic detection of doorbells at distances exceeding two blocks. Pumpkin has authored zero papers and is unbothered by this.
Lily’s work centers on perimeter surveillance and the redistribution of small objects to undisclosed locations. Her fieldwork is conducted primarily at ankle height and often without institutional approval. She is currently developing a novel method for extracting snacks from unattended plates, with preliminary results described as “promising” and “extremely fast.” Lily believes the mail carrier is a threat and will not be persuaded otherwise.
