Wenli works on identifying a robust, low-cost anode for an electrochemical treatment module for oxidizing organic contaminants under conditions encountered in distributed water treatment systems. Besides working in the lab, she likes reading, biking and practicing zumba and yoga.

Anushka is developing a novel filter medium to lower the cost and simplify the selective treatment of toxic hexavalent chromium in drinking water sources.

Minerva is exploring how to use the unique optical properties of semiconducting nanomaterials to build a sensor that detects lead in drinking water. Outside of the lab she enjoys spending time outside, dancing, and making music.

Sidney is working on developing sensor technologies for measuring heavy metals in water. He is also working on developing mixed matrix membranes for direct air carbon capture applications. In his free time he enjoys practicing martial arts, watching anime/playing games, and exploring the city.

Yingfei is dedicated to researching eco-friendly solutions for treating sludge, a by-product of wastewater treatment, and finding ways to repurpose easily degradable organic solid waste into valuable resources. Outside of her research, she loves engaging in outdoor adventures and exploring the world.

Kelly’s research investigates how nanomaterials can be incorporated into layer-by-layer assembled membranes to mitigate fouling in reverse osmosis desalination. In her free time, Kelly can be found exploring the running and hiking trails in the Bay Area.
