Before coming to Duke I double-majored in Statistics and English at UC Berkeley, where my statistical thinking was shaped by Sandrine Dudoit and Steven Evans.

Classes

I have taken the mandatory first-year PhD core courses: 

• probability & measure theory

• linear models

• bayesian statistics

• statistical inference 

• sampling & MCMC methods

• case studies

I have also taken the following elective courses:

• advanced mathematical statistics & probability theory (STA 932)

• empirical bayes methods (special topics)

• AI, LLMs, and causal inference (special topics)

I passed my preliminary exam on December 4th, 2025. My examiners were Peter Hoff, Galen Reeves, and Surya Tokdar.
