Interdistrict Transportation Competition

Hello fellow transportation enthusiasts! UC Berkeley ITE and the Cal Transportation Team are excited to announce and host the Interdistrict Transportation Competition (ITC) from Friday, November 8 to Sunday, November 10, 2024, and we invite you to join us on our campus for this exciting conference!

What is ITC?

The purpose of ITC is to provide a space for students to engage in various transportation-related challenges often seen in the professional world, including in fields like planning, design, and data analysis

Main Competition

Small groups from the same student chapter will tackle a transportation-related problem, presenting their solution in both a presentation and a short paper. Each group is limited to 6 people. If a school brings 7 or more participants, they will need to be split into separate groups to ensure meaningful participation from everyone.

Project Fair

Students will be placed into mixed groups with members from other ITE chapters to work on unique prompts. Each group will focus on a different mode of transportation, concluding with a poster session where they will share their work to other students and professionals.

Career Fair

There will be a career fair featuring many of our sponsors. This is a great opportunity to network and learn more about the industry. It is also a chance to explore internships and jobs being offered within transportation.

Tours and Seminars

We will go on a public agency tour to learn more about Bay Area transit, and a walking technical tour around Berkeley to learn about transportation systems and micromobility in the area. We will also host technical seminars aimed at helping students acquire essential skills useful in the transportation industry.

Join our Discord!

We have created a Discord where you can meet fellow ITC attendees and can also ask us any questions you may have there!

Individual Student Registration Form

For each student attending the ITC, please fill out the registration form by Wednesday, October 23, by 11:59pm Pacific Time.  This is a strict deadline, we need all of the teams finalized by them in addition to several other important details regarding the poster fair!! A mailer will be sent out to all registered attendees shortly after this deadline.

Note: This form only needs to be submitted once, however we allow form editing after so if there is information you need to change after the deadline, feel free to edit your response.

Chapter Registration Form

The chapter registration form can be found below. Please note that this registration form is binding, and by submitting the form, we fully expect your chapter to be represented in ITC. The deadline to submit this form is Wednesday, October 9, but the earlier the response, the better, so we can plan accordingly. There is an initial chapter registration fee of $60, which comes with free individual registration for 2 students. The individual registration fee for additional students is $30 per student. Please only submit one response per chapter for the chapter registration.

After you register, we will send out the individual registration form asking for the exact number of participants, contact information, emergency contacts, dietary restrictions, number of teams, travel plans, and more. This is also when we will ask for payment for your additional students. We will also ask participants to indicate their preferred mode of transportation for the project fair so we can organize groups based on interests.

Note: This form only needs to be submitted once by one member per chapter.
