I am happy to support undergraduate students in their academic and professional applications. To ensure I can provide a thoughtful and timely letter, please follow these guidelines.
Please reach out at least four weeks before your first deadline. While I do not have a strict grade requirement, I am best positioned to write a strong, detailed letter for students who earned an A- or higher or who engaged deeply with the course through office hours and discussion.
If I agree to write for you, please send a single email containing the following materials:
A list of the courses you took with me (including semester and year).
Your current resume or CV.
A draft of your personal statement or statement of purpose.
A brief summary of two or three specific projects, contributions, or moments from class that you would like me to highlight.
A clear list of programs and their respective submission deadlines.
For students in my large lecture courses, I frequently collaborate with your GSI. Because they have the most direct experience with your weekly work and participation, I may ask them to provide specific feedback or a draft to ensure the letter is as comprehensive as possible. Please include them (via cc) in your request for a letter of recommendation.
Please send all materials to [Your Email] with the subject line: Letter of Recommendation Request - [Your Name].
