Travel to Tromsø
There are domestic flights to Tromsø airport (TOS) from Oslo and Bergen, as well as several direct international flights e.g., from Helsinki, Gdańsk, Vienna, Copenhagen, Zürich, Stockholm, Berlin, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Amsterdam, Milan, London, Manchester, etc.
You can take a look at scheduled direct flights on https://avinor.no/en/airport/tromso-airport/
Getting around
Public transportation (buses)
Bus tickets can be purchased on the app Svipper (Android / iPhone), at ticket machines (there is one located at the airport bus stop - it may not work with all bank cards), or on board (in which case only cash is accepted).
Svipper is also helpful for navigation, showing real-time bus schedules and routes (you can track the exact position of the bus on the map). Google maps isn't equally accurate, although it functions to some extent.
The airport is connected to the center by lines 24, 26, 40, 42. An easy way to get to the bus stop at the airport, if you want to get to the center, is to exit the terminal, go downstairs to the parking lot, walk towards the main street and cross the road.
Buses to UiT: 20, 33, 34 - plus several other options depending on the time of the day.
Taxi
You can book a ride online here https://tromsotaxi.no/en/bestill-taxi/ (or use their app). If you book for later, make sure you note down the pick-up time. Or you just get in line at the taxi stand in front of the airport.
Navigation on campus
To find your way around on campus you can use MazeMap on your phone, which should lead you to the seminar rooms, or just ask a local.
