Demonstration of spectrometer components and operation. This video features StellarNet components from experiment 2 instead of the LabQuest ones you would normally use for this lab, but the components are similar.
Set up the spectrometer and calibrate it using the blank standard sample prepared in Part II.
There are three power switches on the light source. One for the entire unit, and one for each of the two lamps used.
The arrow on the cuvet should be oriented facing toward or away from the light source in the orange box.
Place the cuvet in the sample holder and obtain a spectrum using the software provided with the laptop.
Obtain a full spectrum of your dye standard you prepared in Part II.
