VS206B (above) is a graduate course in the UC Berkeley School of Optometry. It teaches scientific basis for techniques and procedures used in clinical optometry. It emphasizes learning the terminology, definitions and structural relationships of the bones, muscles, adnexa, vasculature and nervous tissue of the eye and orbit. It highlights relevant clinical case examples so students can learn to apply their knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology to diagnose and manage clinical conditions.
>> This challenging, sixty-student course has only two Graduate Student Instructors. Therefore, Emily built an in-depth understanding of the course material, developed a strong ability to teach challenging material effectively to students from diverse academic backgrounds, and continues to leverage her innate creativity and commitment toward maximizing students' potential for success.
