I'm a postdoc at the University of Bristol affiliated with the Expressing Value in Language (EVIL) project, led by Poppy Mankowitz. My work is at the intersection of philosophy of language, metaethics, and ethics.
I earned my PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, where I was advised by Jay Wallace and Seth Yalcin. My dissertation was about evaluative discourse, including thick terms, slurs, swear words, and displays of praise and blame.
News:
I'll be presenting 'Thick as Thin' at various venues in the next few months: Bristol (November 5), Edinburgh (November 13), and New York (December 14.)
"The Normative Common Ground", co-authored with Taylor Madigan, has been published in Ethics.
