Universities and the advancement of technologies

The couse will include the following assessments:

• ASSIGNMENT 1: There will be a quiz (in open book format) in the middle, that will carry 20%. Students will be given question(s) and will have the option to choose any one and write a 1000 word brief on that topic. 

• ASSIGNMENT 2: Students will adopt an emerging technological area (e.g., IoT, Drone technology, and AI) of their choice and develop a practice brief about advancing the area in India through universities. The practice brief will include recommendations to policy makers, industries and universities.  This will be done in groups of two or individually. See details here.  

  • Final draft   - 30%

• ASSIGNMENT 3 AND 4: Students will be required to develop an academic manuscript that can be submitted to a leading journal in the areas of technology transfer or policy.  This can be done in groups of two. Students will be expected to collect some primary/secondary data towards this paper and present preliminary findings. 

  • Proposal on the paper (in presentation format) - optional

  • Assignment 3: First draft of the paper - 20%

  • Assignment 4: Final draft of the manuscript - 30%
