Cloud at Cal is a student-run research organization based at the University of California, Berkeley. Our mission is to inspire action to tackle immense problems using novel cloud approaches.

Our mission is to make the process of deploying scalable and powerful solutions easier for everybody.

To achieve this, we partake in three foundational activities: educating, researching, and deploying. While we view cloud technologies as paramount in achieving our mission, any other technology that achieves this outcome is considered aligned with our mission. 

At its core, the cloud is a network of computers that work together to store and manage data. The cloud can be used to store data, run applications, and provide services. It's a way to use technology to make it easier for people to access and use vast collections of data and compute.

One of the biggest advantages of the cloud is that it allows organizations to scale their operations quickly and efficiently. This is especially important for organizations that are expected to sustain rapid growth or need to respond to sudden spikes in demand.
