Guided and trained ~10 summer interns, work/study undergraduate students, master students, PhD graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in sample preparation, operation of the Fourier Transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR), fluoroboric acid washing protocols, and operation of the Raman Spectrometer.
Mentored 2 M. Eng students in sample preparation, data collection and analysis to visualize the properties of various volcanic materials. I also guided these students in preparation and presentation of their research findings. They have moved on to Arcadis NV (a global design, engineering and management consulting company) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
