A Note on Procedure

The procedure we are using today is modified from the version in the textbook!

1. We are adding a new compound to Part 1: biphenyl

2. The following solvent systems will be used instead of those written in the textbook:

• 10:10:1 toluene : ethyl acetate : acetic acid

• 50:50 hexane : ethyl acetate

• 100% hexanes

• 80:20 hexane : acetone

• 50:50 hexane : acetone

• 100% acetone
