We invite contributions to further our understanding of adaptive learning in complex environments. Examples of which include but are not limited to:
Theoretical and practical works dedicated to improving the Sample Efficiency and Tractability of Adaptive Learning Algorithms for domains such as Reinforcement Learning, Bandit Algorithms and Experiment Design. The emphasis will be on the presentation of novel results and methodologies to achieve these aims.
Works that aim to help bridge the gap between theoretical and practical methods for Knowledge Transfer and Generalization in adaptive environments, especially in the presence of distribution shift. These can be in the subfields of meta and transfer reinforcement learning or other related area of research.
Research improving Human Centric Design of adaptive learning systems. Such as how we incorporate human objectives in adaptive learning mechanisms, as well as understanding the social consequences of using adaptive learning algorithms to make decisions about people. The workshop will be exploring these topics by encouraging discussions on new models for Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) and algorithmic fairness considerations inherent to the endeavor of adaptive learning system design.
Advances in our understanding of adaptive Learning Systems Interacting with Each Other in environments where their decisions need to account for competing or synergistic objectives from either their interaction with people, or other adaptive learning systems. These include multi-agent scenarios, game theoretic interactions, and learning from strategically manipulated feedback.
We welcome papers between 4 and 9 pages, excluding references/appendices. The length of the paper should be commensurate with its contribution. Both short and long papers are welcomed.
The paper should be in our version of the Neurips2024 workshop format.
You may use as many pages of references and appendix as you wish, but reviewers are not required to read the appendix.
The review process will be double-blind and therefore, papers should be anonymized.
Accepted papers are not considered an archival publication and there will not be workshop proceedings. Submissions that are concurrently under review at other venues are therefore allowed (assuming dual-submission and anonymity policies of other venues are not violated).
All accepted papers will be presented as posters and will be made available on the workshop website.
In case of acceptance the poster is recommended to be in landscape format.
