☘️ Week of March 2nd ☘️
Students of the Month for February:
Math: Tamzin Elwood
ELA: Mallory McMillen
SS: Delilah Van Kannel
SCI: Emily DiDonato
Regualr Math Class Assignments: As we enter topics 7-9 which deal with fractions, we will be doing work on paper instead of assignments out of the chromebook. A copy will be put in their google classroom. That way if a student loses the assignment, one can be printed at home.
3rd Quarter Reward: Here are the criteria to earn the 3rd quarter reward. We will plan on going to the playground by the Middleburg Heights Rec on Wednesday, April 1st. If it is raining that day, we will postpone to a later date.
1. No F’s in any of their 4 core classes: Math, ELA, Social Studies, and Science
2. Have Zero (0) After School Detentions, Zero (0) Saturday School and Zero (0) In/Out of School Suspensions.
3. No more than 5 behavior reflections for the quarter
3 reflections = 1 Team detention
4. No more than 2 team detentions.
5. Have no more than 5 “missing” assignments total for the team.
(This applies to math, social studies, ela, and science)
The criteria will start on Wednesday, January 21st, and end on 3/30/26 for academic, and 4/1/26 for behavior.
Preparing for Academic Success: Starting this week, we will be tailoring ATLAS and FLEX time towards being more responsible for work and for the students to get use to how ATLAS and FLEX will be done in 6th grade. FLEX time from Monday through Wednesday will be a study hall where students can get work done and ask teachers for help. If a student is done with their work, the next option is to silently read. Thursday and Friday will be free days. ATLAS will be scheduled as follows. Mondays=SEL, Tuesdays=Skill Work , Wednesday-Friday=Silently Reading.
Dressing for the weather: We will still go outside as the temperatures drop as long as its above freezing. We have had many students complain about the cold who are not dressed for the weather. Students can keep a hoodie or sweatshirts in their locker to wear along with any jacket they bring. We just ask that students take them home at the end of the week to be washed.
Chromebook sign out: As long as a parent emails Mr. Rivera or Miss Raabe, a student can sign out their chromebook to take home to complete missing assignments.
Test Corrections: It is up to the students to contact their teachers about test corrections. The students will be asked to perform tasks that show mastery before they can retake a test. The test retake has to be done 1 week from the original test.
