How long do Chromebooks last?

Chromebooks are expected to last about five years. Many may be useful beyond that point, but software updates are not guaranteed after that time.

Will these devices be used for testing sessions?

The Chromebooks will be used for all state testing. Because of testing, all students must receive school-issued chromebooks.

What is the replacement cost of the Chromebook?

The Chromebook alone cost $200 to replace. See the 1:1 Device Handbook for additional fees. Consider purchasing optional 1:1 Device insurance in case of accidents. Please note: the chromebook must be returned if a student is leaving the district or the family will be billed for the full amount of the chromebook.

How long will the battery last during the school day?

Chromebooks have a battery life of up to 10 hours. Chromebooks should be charged at home every evening.
