Students had a great time walking to one of three locations for lunch - McDonald's, Wendy's, Mimi's or The Original Steaks & Hoagies. Students enjoyed their lunch and then had some team bonding time at the Middleburg Heights playground. We were very fortunate to have AWESOME weather for this trip!
The team traveled to the Rocky River Nature Center as an extension activity for the ELA novel, Seedfolks. Students began the day with a program called "Growing the Future" that hit both connections to the novel and upcoming science standards. After the presentation, students hiked with naturalists, learning more information about the trees, water, and landscape around them.
Students also found an object in nature to study and take notes on for an upcoming ELA poem. Lunch was down the street at the Lagoon Picnic area, with an opportunity for staff and students to play some games before heading back to school.
The trip reflection from students showed that they understood the connection between the concepts in the novel and the trip and that overall, they had a fantastic time on this trip.
