Week 1 (June 1-4)
Intro to Robotics
Instructor: Kelly Parker
Build. Test. Modify. Repeat. In one week, you and a partner will learn the basics of building and testing a drivetrain.
Week 2 (June 7-10)
Bentonville Reads
Session 1
Instructors: Holly Howard & Penny Springmann
An introduction to authors of various genres, along with book discussions, team building activities, and field trips to Crystal Bridges and the Momentary
Book: Frankly in Love by David Yoon (YA Romance)
Outdoor Survival*
Instructors: Bree Keith & Kembra Mathis
Students will learn medical preparedness, first aide, nutrition, and weather considerations as they hike and bike throughout Northwest Arkansas.
*This session will run June 7-11, Monday - Friday
College Prep Workshop - Applications
Instructor: Alice Haney
Students will get an insider's look into the college application process, including tips for getting financial aid. Students will hear from a variety of guest speakers and tour local colleges to learn about the postsecondary world.
Week 3 (June 14-17)
Painting with Gouache
Instructor: Carson Rankin
Exploring the art of painting with gouache. Includes a field trip to Crystal Bridges.

Session 2
Instructors: Tara Nutt & Shannon Little
An introduction to authors of various genres, along with book discussions, team building activities, and a field trip to Coler Creek
Book: Darius the Great is Not Okay by Adib Khorram (YA Realistic Fiction)
Pottery*
Instructor: Mikalah Carroll
Exploring the art of pottery. Includes a field trip to Crystal Bridges and Dr. Jeffery Grubbs, West Liberty University, as a guest speaker.
*This session will run June 14-17, Mon-Thur AND June 21 & 23, Mon and Wed*
Athletic Training*
Instructors: Bree Keith & Kembra Mathis
Students will learn how to treat basic musculoskeletal injuries, wound care, and stabilization techniques. Students will compete in Sports Medicine Games, and tour the University of Arkansas Kinesiology Research Lab
*This session will run June 14-16*
Improv Theater Session 1
Instructors: Matthew Peoples, Luke Bridges
Students will learn improvisational techniques, play theatre games, and practice the Harold structure of improvisation
Week 4 (June 21-24)
College Prep Workshop - Essay Writing
Instructor: Lora Pate
A workshop focusing, primarily, on developing college applications and acceptance & scholarship essays. Students will also shape a resume, broaden understanding of financing college, hear from guest speakers regarding applying and possible interviewing expectations, and tour the University of Arkansas

Session 3

An introduction to authors of various genres, along with book discussions, team building activities, and a field trip to the Museum of Native American History
Book: The Marrow Thieves by Cherie Dimaline (YA Fantasy/Dystopian)

Students will learn improvisational techniques, play theatre games, and practice the Harold structure of improvisation

Week 5 (July 12-15)
Outdoor Adventures
Instructors: Holly Treat, Tony Cherico, Tom Halbmeier, Mike Eaves
Some days will last longer than 3pm to accommodate the field trips*
Experience outdoor fitness activities including kayaking, fishing, archery, pellet rifle shooting, and hiking. Destinations include the King's River, Lost Valley hiking trail, Ponca Elk Education Center, Ozark Highlands Nature Center, and Roaring River State Park.
Soap Making
Instructor: Marilyn Payne
Learn and participate in the art of soap making using a variety of techniques. Students will create, cut, and package several soaps while experimenting with scent and color.
Musical Theater
Instructors: Matthew Peoples, Luke Bridges
Students will learn strategies and techniques for musical theater performances, and will engage in various performances.
Week 6 (July 19-22)
Baking
Instructor: Joy Hamer
Students will learn the science of food while baking goods such as cake pops, cinnamon roles, Easter breads, pudding, and cheesecake bars. Includes a field trip to a local bakery and guest speakers who will teach students how to make a career with food.
Week 7 (July 26-29)
Competitive Speech
Instructors: Brandon Box-Higdem & Abbey Montgomery
Students will participate in a variety of activities exploring styles of debate and forensics
On the Job Experience
Instructor: Kelly Parker
Students will visit several local businesses, including construction and architecture sites, to learn what it takes to be successful in the business world.
