Coming together in order to help each other and the community is what Lincoln is all about. In all 8th grade math, 7th accelerated, and 8th grade accelerated science classes the students are trying to make a difference in others' lives. The Social Impact Project is about developing and empowering our students at LJHS to be compassionate leaders who are positively affecting their community. Students are tasked with making a significant social impact in their community, while demonstrating mastery of major curricular concepts. Each student will implement their own individually created social impact action plan based on their understanding of the community's needs by going beyond the classroom walls to solve real issues. We are creating Impactors!
The first Leopard Service Fair was held on February 14th to launch the Social Impact Project by allowing students to see first hand the needs in our community, services that local organizations provide, and how student can help serve now. We hosted 17 organizations (listed below) that gave great insight to our students at how they can better serve their community.
The students will be presenting their final projects on May 8th.
