We are off to a wonderful start at Centerton Gamble! Our students have spent the first few weeks building relationships, learning routines, and growing together. September brings many opportunities to strengthen our school community and continue advancing learning for all with Gamble G.R.I.T.

Coffee with Mr. Hunt
Centerton Gamble Elementary families are invited to join us for a new opportunity to connect, collaborate, and enjoy an informal conversation together—Coffee with Mr. Hunt!
This relaxed gathering will provide families an opportunity to ask questions, learn more about our school, curriculum, upcoming events, and other topics important to our CGE community. We also encourage you to submit questions or requests for information ahead of time so we can make each meeting meaningful and beneficial for all stakeholders. To help us know how many CGE Stakeholders to expect (and have enough coffee for!), please take a moment to RSVP for our event on September 17th from 8-9 AM in the Cafeteria. We would love to have all RSVPs by Friday, September 11th. Hope to see you soon!

Grandparent's/Caregiver's Picnic
Grandparent's/Caregiver's Picnic Day is set for Friday, September 25th! Lunch times are listed below along with lawn locations for convenience. Guests are required to check in FIRST in the front office to receive the proper guest pass for the special event. There will be staff supervision outside on the front lawn during all lunch times. Please bring lawn chairs, blankets, and/or umbrellas for protection from the sun as needed. Students will be escorted out to all families from the cafeteria doors so there is no need to go inside for lunch. Grandparents/Caregivers are responsible for their own lunch and you may bring one for your child of course to enjoy with you! Students will have the option to pick up a lunch from the cafeteria prior to making their way outside for the picnic as well.

CGES Volunteers
We love having volunteers at CGES! To volunteer at school, chaperone a field trip, or participate in other school activities, all adults must complete the volunteer training and required forms each school year. Hello families! Please remember that students must be up to date on required vaccines or have an updated vaccine exemption letter submitted by October 1st. Students who do not meet the requirements are subject to being excluded from school until documentation is provided. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. This month, students will learn about the 25th anniversary of September 11, Constitution Day on September 17, and refreshing how to find books in the library! Mrs. Wall

September is all about the basics. We are working on Locomotor Skills, Spatial Awareness, Pathways, and Underhand Throwing. Students will play a fun game called - Builders and Bulldozers. They will also work in groups at stations to practice all of the skills we’ve learned from August through September. Coach Neisler and Coach Witcher

My name is Mrs. Mullinax, and I am the new Digital Literacy teacher. I have loved getting to know your kiddos during these first few weeks of school. During September we will continue practicing keyboarding skills, including proper posture and hand placement. We will also be working through our tech quest path on Learning.com, which includes digital citizenship lessons, online safety lessons, and basic keyboarding lessons. In third and fourth grade we will learn some common formatting tips and tricks to use in google docs, and students will practice using what they have learned on their own. Mrs. Mullinax

Welcome back to another exciting month at school! As we settle into the rhythm of the new year, our students are diving headfirst into the fascinating world of science and engineering. We are thrilled to share what each grade level will be exploring this September.
Kindergarten - 2nd Grade: Students will explore how science and engineering are all around us. Through hands-on activities, they’ll experiment with different materials to design and build structures like houses, bridges, and castles.
3rd Grade: Students will explore how forces affect the stability and motion of objects through hands-on experiences, discussion, and informational texts. They will investigate how forces interact and use models and scientific explanations to demonstrate their understanding.
4th Grade: Students will explore how we receive and process information from our environment. They will use models to investigate how our senses and body systems work together to help us respond to our surroundings.

Art
Students across all grades will celebrate International Dot Day by creating their own unique “Dot” artworks! They’ll also begin preparing a special piece of art for the Square 1 Art Fundraiser. Keep an eye out for more details coming in October and November! Finally, everyone will explore the key parts of a landscape (foreground, middle ground, and background) and create their beautiful landscape drawings. September Guidance Lessons
This month during classroom guidance lessons, students will learn about emotions and healthy coping skills. We’ll practice identifying and expressing feelings, recognizing how emotions affect our bodies, and using strategies to manage big feelings. As school counselors, we visit every classroom once a month to help students build their personal success skills that they can use at school, at home, and beyond!

Students may be referred for individual counseling by themselves, parents/guardians, teachers, or other school staff as needed.
School counselors meet individually with students to:
