The Concert Band is at the core of the band program at Benton Community High School, and begins daily rehearsals at the conclusion of the marching season. This ensemble will place a major focus on the study and performance of band masterworks and will explore music theory, history, and the technique and facility required to successfully perform high-quality literature.
The Marching Bobcats are the most visible aspect of the band program at Benton Community High School. This ensemble is open to all students in grades 9-12 who play a band instrument. The Marching Bobcats meet for a one-week Band Camp towards the end of summer as well as for a number of additional evening rehearsals. This ensemble then meets primarily during 1st Period daily..
The First Street Jazz Ensemble is an auditioned group that begins rehearsals in October, near the end of the marching season. Rehearsals are held Tuesday/Thursday from 7-8am.
The Bobcat Pep Band performs at a number of home basketball games each winter, adding to the exciting gameday environment at BCHS!
IHSMA Solo/Small Ensemble Festival is held each year in late March/early April. Various chamber ensembles will be formed each year for this event, as well as for additional community functions.
