Pe at bentley west

At Bentley West we aim to inspire all children to develop a love of physical education through play, physical activity, active learning and sport. Through quality physical education lessons, our school values and a whole child approach, we aim to nurture supportive, thoughtful, ambitious and resilient children who will endeavor to strive to achieve their best. We provide our children with a range of active experiences and clubs. We believe this helps our children’s mental, emotional, social and physical well-being. To support this, we believe our PE Curriculum is designed to make sure our pupils are provided with high quality PE lessons that are enjoyable, inclusive and develop expertise for all.

We aim to ensure that our delivery of physical education allows all children to have the skills and mindset to leave primary school with the capabilities to be successful in their sporting challenges and active lifestyles at secondary school and beyond.

As a school we recognise the importance of PE and the role it must play in promoting a long term, healthy lifestyle. Through the school games mark, we ensure that the children are given the chance to experience competitive sport against local schools to enhance their abilities and learn how to respect teammates and others.

  • Black pumps for inside.

  • Trainers for outside.

  • Children may also wear a plain black tracksuit when outside.

  • All jewellery must be removed.

extra-CURRICULAR sports clubs

At Bentley West, we offer a wide range of extra-curricular sports clubs to ensure children are engaged within sport and continue to lead a healthy lifestyle outside of school hours. This also provides children with the best opportunities to represent Bentley West at sporting events and tournaments.

We enter every sporting competition the local area has to offer and have teams placed in a variety of leagues. This gives the children an opportunity to express themselves and compete against different schools in a competitive but fun environment. Furthermore, our children learn the importance of sportsmanship as well as respect.

Increasing sports participation and a healthy lifestyle is one of our main priorities at Bentley West and we are always creating links with local sports clubs. Every year, we continue to increase participation and develop a lifelong love of sport as well as promoting an active lifestyle.

He was born with normal vision but at 15 months old was diagnosed with a condition which caused him to lose his eyesight. Darren led a whole school fun fitness circuit with the children and then delivered an insprational assembly in which he did a demonstration for the children.

harry king

During our Commonwealth Games week we were lucky enough to have a visit from Harry King, a former GB International Sprinter and British Record Holder. Harry kicked off our opening ceremony with an inspiring talk to the children about resilience and growth mindset.
