This weeks topic has been based upon trains.
We have had so much fun building long train tracks to push our trains down.
We have also been extending our fine motor skills by cutting train lines and drawing pencil control lines.
Our story has been 'The train ride', this has linked to our Literacy focus activity, We have been using our recall skills to retell the story.

This weeks topic has been based upon boats.
Our rhyme of the week has been ' Row, row, row your boat'. We have enjoyed singing this and learning the makaton signs to go with our nursery rhyme.
We have also, as a whole class, junk modelled a boat using cardboard, it was so much fun! This helped to develop our life skills too, we were able to show; good team work and good communication to complete our end goal.
We have also had extra fun in our beach role play, pretending to swim and eat ice-cream and taking part in a yoga programme.

This weeks topic has been based upon the nursery rhyme 'The wheels on the bus'.
We have been role playing with the buses in our tuff tray that has been designed as a road. We have also been counting how many people are on the bus and we caught the bus all the way down to the beach. The bus stop in our classroom is at the role play area which is designed as a beach so the children can play in the swimming pool, sand and enjoy an ice lolly or ice cream.
This week we have been making Fathers day cards, we have enjoyed being very creative and creating our special card to give to our special grown up on Sunday.

Wow, what a start to our term!
We have had a fantastic week.
We have been on our school trip to Ash End Farm. We had lots of fun visiting all the different animals, feeding them, singing nursery rhymes and learning lots of interesting new facts about them.
To end our week, we celebrated world cultural day. We have thought about why we are unique, we looked at our similarities and differences, looked at different foods from different countries and celebrated our culture through songs and dances from around the world.

We have had a fabulous end to our half term!
This week has been all around celebrating the Kings coronation. We have been creating crowns and flags in our creative area and playing with our castle and kingsmen in our tuff tray.
We have also really enjoyed having our parents and carers in to share our coronation inspire day engaging in all different activities together, including; carriage modelling, biscuit making and crown creating.
Thursday saw our concert day celebrating and sharing a fun day with songs and dancing with everyone in school and our parent/carers.

This week's focus has been all around bees.
We have been doing alot of fine motor activities; cutting bumble bee lines, making stripes by wrapping wool around bees and feeding the bees in our tuff tray.
We have also had super fun using our beebots and programming them to move around our classroom.
We have also been assessing our knowledge in colours and minibeasts by grouping the coloured minibeasts together.
We have also been creative in junk modelling bees and uses resources around us in our creative area!

This week's focus has been all around ladybirds, ladybirds life cycle and spring.
We have been matching ladybirds to their amounts using puzzles.
We have been using the maps from 'What the ladybird heard" to draw on to find our way out of the farm. We have used the whiteboard for another Maths activity and counting the spots up to 10 and identifying the correct amount.
We have also used our fine motor skills to decorate our ladybirds with spotty stickers.
We have had another fun filled week in Nursery!

This weeks focus has been all around ladybirds and spring.
We have been moulding ladybirds with playdough and using wobbly eyes, pipe cleaners and pom poms to decorate.
We have used our story of the week 'What the ladybird heard' as a focus activity on our Literacy table - we had to label the characters from our story, exclaim the sound they made and afterwards, for some children try to retell the story. This was a challenging task but we were able to work hard to do this!
We have also been on a minibeast hunt outside - particularly looking for caterpillars, butterflies and ladybirds.
We have also been using our fine motor skills to pick the minibeasts out of the jelly with tweezers, it was lots of fun!

We have had another fantastic week at Nursery!
This week's topic has been all about Caterpillars, butterflies and spring.
To celebrate the bloom of flowers we are seeing around us because of spring, we have been planting our own sunflowers and we were able to order a sequence verbally on how to plant our sunflower.
We have made caterpillars from playdough, used pipe cleaners as their 'antennaes' and decorated them in different patterns.
For Maths, we have matching butterflies to make a pair. From this we were talking about the different colours and sizes butterflies come in.
What a wonderful week!

What a fantastic start to our new term!
We have had a fantastic start to our new topic - minibeasts.
This week we have looked at the story - The Hungry Caterpillar. We were able to identify what foods he had eaten, retell the story and we were able to identify a caterpillar's life cycle.
We have also had a special visitor, one of the parents of a nursery child have been to visit us to play his guitar so we could sing nursery rhymes together. We really loved singing along and we were even able to strum on his guitar. Thank you so much Mr Powis, We love learning music in Nursery!

Wow! What an end to our half term, it has been fabulous!
Our focus this week has been Easter and we have really enjoyed all the 'egg-citing' activities.
We invited our parents and carers to help us celebrate by holding an Easter inspire morning, We had a beautiful Easter bonnet parade, sang Easter songs and then we all joined in together with choosing activities.
Our favourite activity this week has been experimenting with the coloured rice.
We have also enjoyed our farm yard tuff tray, creating our Easter cards, our rabbit bean bag toss game and our brilliant Easter egg hunt.
We have had a super, fun week!

This week we have focused on the Nursery rhyme, Humpty Dumpty!
We have been using our fine motor skills to stick him back together with plasters. We have been working on our art printing skills to print him a new wall to sit on, using potatoes and paint.
We have also designed him a 'get well soon' card in our Literacy area to make him feel better.
In our creative area, we have been making our own Humpty dumpty's using balloons, paper plates, paints and tissue paper.

This week has been a wonderful week! We have been talking and learning about Mother's day and the focus was our Mommy's and carers. We have been discussing why they are special to us and how we can make our grown ups feel special too.
We have linked our Mothers day focus to Nursery rhymes and explored these nursery rhymes through our play.
In the Maths area, we had hot cross buns and we had been using money to buy the hot cross buns from our friends.
In Literacy, we have drawn our Mommy's/carers and have explained why they are so special.
We have also enjoyed learning how to make a cup of tea for our grown ups at home.
WB 06.03.2023
This week in Nursery we had some very special visitors. The animal lady arrived with two cheeky chinchillas, two cute rabbits, a sleepy hedgehog, a tiny tortoise, a friendly snake, a grumpy bearded dragon and a shy gecko. It was such a pleasure to see the children's faces during this experience. They were absolutely fascinated with the animals and learnt lots of new, interesting animal facts.
It was a fantastic experience that we won’t forget and have gained knowledge from. We learnt all about the animals sleeping patterns, what they like to eat and how fast and slow some of the animals move.
This was a great way to celebrate the success of our topic on ‘animals’.

We have had an amazing start to our new term!
Our new topic is Nursery rhymes.
This week we have been exploring our new topic activities in our classroom.
Our role play area is now a farm just like Old McDonald had. We have had so much fun in there.
We have been compare and drawing spiders in our Maths area. we also need to attach the legs on Incy Wincy spider.
We are also so super proud of the homework our nursery have produced over the half term of their favourite nursery rhyme.

Wow what an end to our half term!
We have finished our term with learning all about pets and sharing photographs of our pets with our friends and teachers.
We went on a letter hunt in our classroom, looking and identifying objects that begin with s.
On our creative table we have been cutting, sticking and colouring our pets and creating love hearts for valentines day.
In our small world we have created an area for our pets to sleep in and in our tuff tray we have had to clean our pets with soapy water as they have got very muddy outside!
We have had a super half term learning all about animals and we look forward to welcoming the animal lady to see us after our February break!

We have had as brilliant week this week!
We have learnt all about woodland animals and linked our learning to the book 'The Gruffalo'.
We have been exploring the woodland area in our forest school. We were digging and making homes for the characters in the Gruffalo story. We have also been making a Gruffalo crumble in our tuff tray!
As our Literacy activity we have been recalling the order of the Gruffalo story and learning how to write our letter of the week which is 'a'.
In our construction area we have used blocks to make enclosures for our woodland animals.

This week has been super in Nursery!
We have really loved exploring our topic 'Animals in the jungle' this week.
We have been to visit our forest on a jungle hunt for animals with our friends. We made our own binoculars and used to look around the forest to spot the animals. It was amazing. We had lots of fun!
We have also been creating tiger painting by using marbles to roll around in paint.
We have also been drawing what we can see in the jungle and we know that jungles are made up of lots and lots of trees!

This week in Nursery we have learnt all about the Chinese New Year, which took place on Sunday 22nd January.
We learnt lots of fun facts; this year is the year of the Rabbit, in China they decorate their houses and the streets with lanterns and Kung Hei Fat Choi means Happy New Year in Mandarin.
We have had lots of fun exploring our chinese tuff tray which included; coloured rice, money, money wallets and chopsticks.
We made 3D dragons in our creative area and put them on lollipop sticks so we could reenact a chinese dragon dance.
We also retold the story of the animals involved in the Chinese calendar.
We have had a fantastic week in Nursery!

We have had another wonderful week at Nursery this week!
Our rhyme of the week this week has been baby shark. We had fun with our teachers singing and dancing together!
We have focused on animals under the sea, we have been learning and recalling interesting facts about different animals. Did you know; an octopus has blue blood and a jellyfish glows in the dark?
These important facts linked in with our literacy focus when we had to name and describe the different animals we had learnt about.
Our activities this week to support our learning were; rainbow fish painting , cutting and shaping under the sea animals with playdough and drawing the correct amount of bubbles to our fish for our maths focus.
We also had great fun in our new role play area. We have pretended to be vets!
During outdoor play we have been exploring the snow and ice, working together to collect snow and ice and experiment how we could make it melt.

This week the children have been engrossed in their learning, our topic of the week has certainly grasped their interest. They have absolutely loved learning about a new artic animal each day and are now able to recall different facts about each one. We have learnt all about penguins, polar bears, narwhals, walruses and orcas!
To support our Maths we have been feeding the penguins the correct amount of fish, we are becoming more independent in the creative area, this week we have been using split pins and on the writing table we have enjoyed discussing our learning from last term and creating a beautiful book with all our photos.
This week has also seen us welcome some new friends into Nursery. Well Done to all our new children who have started to settle in very well. All of the children have been so kind and caring helping the children settle, from encouraging them to join in with their play to showing them where things are in the classroom.

What an absolutely wonderful first week back at school!
All of the children have made us so proud with how they have seamlessly slipped back into routine after a long break at home. We have loved hearing all about the children's festive period over the last few days and the children have thoroughly enjoyed sharing their photographs with their peers.
We have also launched our new topic 'Amazing Animals' this week which we are all very excited about. We can't wait to find out what a walrus is, how tall a giraffe is and why zebra's have spots. We have started the topic off thinking about different weather conditions and which animals may live in icy, snowy regions. The children particular enjoyed exploring the ice and try their very best to break it.

Wow!!! What an amazing first term in Nursery. Well done to all of the children who have grown so much over the short time they have been in school so far. We have seen some huge changes since the children have started, they have all grown so much in confidence and are gradually becoming more and more confident. We can't wait to see what the rest of the year will bring.
We have finished our final week with lots of lovely festive activities and a visit from a very special man. We loved meeting Santa and because we were all so well-behaved he left us some very exciting toys to play with on our final day of term.

What a week !
This week we looked at Christmas and have been talking all about Santa!
We have had the best week because our grown ups have joined us at Nursery to join in with our choosing time activities and to hear us sing our Christmas carols, what we have been practising really hard with our teachers!
This week we have especially loved dancing around our Christmas tree and pretending to be Santa or pretending to be receiving our gifts from Santa.
We have also enjoyed cutting and sticking presents on a stocking of what we would like from Santa and creating Christmas trees with the playdoh and decorating them.

We have had a super week this week!
We have learnt all about The Nativity and the story of baby Jesus.
We have retold the story using the character masks and happyland nativity figures.
We have made stars just like the wise men followed to baby Jesus and have created a manger in a stable picture.

We have had a fabulous week in Nursery this week!
The celebration we have been learning about was weddings.
Our story book of the week was 'The scarecrows wedding'.
We have had so much fun learning new vocabulary that links with weddings.
We have had lots of wedding role play, we have written lists for what we will need for the scarecrows wedding and we have also been making pasta necklaces for Betty the bride.

We have had lots of fun in Nursery this week!
We have been reading 'Kipper's birthday' and learning our rhyme of the week 'happy birthday to you', as well as learning the signing actions to our nursery rhyme!
We have been very busy this week preparing invitations, birthday cards and party food lists for Kipper's birthday. We have also enjoyed wrapping his presents up and decorating the room in our creative bunting.
On Friday, we made chocolate rice crispy cakes for his birthday, they were delicious!
We also had a party to celebrate Kipper's birthday and to celebrate children in need day.

We had a fabulous start to our week in Nursery. We started our week with hot chocolate and marshmallows, we felt this was only right as it is beginning to get cold and dark.
We also built our own bonfire to drink our hot chocolate and marshmallows around!
This week we were looking at the celebrations of bonfire night and remembrance day.
We have worked hard to create a painting of the field of poppies. We have also been creating poppies by moulding playdough and adding stones and artificial leaves to them.
We have made medals just like the soldiers wore and have marched around the room wearing our medals with pride!
For our homework this week we made pictures or models of fireworks with our parents. They were super!

We have had a fantastic week in Nursery this week!
We have been learning all about Autumn and Halloween.
We started our week with a super fun halloween party. We then created Autumn pictures of the trees, using Autumn colours.
We have also been looking at identifying all the different objects we can find outside during the Autumn months.
We also really enjoyed our music lesson with Mrs Wilkes.

We have had a wonderful end to our term this week!
This week our story has been 'brown bear, brown bear. What do you see?' and we have focused on using our senses.
We have been carving and exploring inside pumpkins.
We have been on a leaf hunt to collect lots of different textured and coloured leaves to create Autumn photo frames.
We have made pasta shakers using pasta, cups and elastic bands.

We have had a great week at Nursery this week!
This week we have focused on family and our personal hygiene.
Our story of the week has been My Mum and Dad make me laugh and our rhyme of the week has been 'This is the way we brush our teeth.'
The children have particularly enjoyed making playdough pizza with real herbs!
Thank you for the fantastic homework this week in Nursery we have used this to enhance our learning - children have been identifying spotty and stripey socks as well as matching socks together.

This week in Nursery we have learnt all about families!
We have had lots of fun singing our rhyme of the week 'The finger family song' and reading our story of the week ' The family book'.
We have enjoyed sharing lots of information about who is in our family, what we like to do with our families and how we celebrate with our families.
Our shape of the week has been a circle. We have enjoyed a circle shape hunt and painting with circle tubes.
We have also had lots of fun in Forest school and having Mrs Wilkes to teach us some music.

We have really enjoyed painting our very first self portraits. We have been face making with playdough in our investigation and fine motor area and making a face collage using plants, flowers and stones in our creative area.
