DEL & CARLENE SARLETTE HONORED
AS GRAND MARSHALS FOR 2025 FLAG DAY PARADE
The Pioneerland Band Festival Committee is proud to announce that Del & Carlene Sarlette will be honored as this year’s Grand Marshals for the 2025 Flag Day Parade to be held on Friday, June 13. Included in this year’s lineup will be our very own Benson High School Band and nine others, including Waconia, Montevideo, Albany, KMS, Patriots, Alexandria, Litchfield, Fergus Falls, and Bemidji.
Del & Carlene are the owners of Sarlette's Music store in Morris. The Sarlettes bought the store in 1981 from Del's father, Walt. Since then, Sarlette's music has provided area schools with instrument rental and sales, repair services, music accessories, and other support. Del calls on nearly 24 schools in a 60 mile radius.
"Del & Carlene's support of music in our area schools is the reason we can have a parade. Most of our local musicians have either rented and purchased an instrument from Sarlette's or they have had it repaired and maintained there. Del's commitment to keeping music alive and affordable in our rural communities is immeasurable," commented Brock Duncan, band director at Benson Schools.
The PBF committee thanks Del & Carlene for their many years of supporting music and the arts in our community!
