Amanda Essig

I have been with the Benson Early Childhood program since 2014. I started my time here as a Preschool Literacy Tutor with MN Reading Corps and moved into a lead teacher role in 2017 until 2021. In 2019 I took on the role of ECFE Parent Educator as well.

My husband Tim is a paraprofessional with Benson Schools and we live in Benson with our two sons Andrew and Easton, and our daughter Teegan. We have one little furbaby, a chihuahua named Bruno. My whole family loves to go fishing in the summer and spend a lot of time at the baseball fields! I love music of all kinds and use it for everything from relaxing after a stressful day to getting silly with my kids at home and school.

A couple of fun facts about me -

**I have a major addiction to anything coffee! Haha!

Hot coffee, Iced coffee, coffee candy, coffee chocolate...well, you get the idea.

**I know I am majorly in the minority here, but I don't like the smell of flowers. I always tell my husband that he is the luckiest man on earth because he never has to buy me flowers.
